Voriways 200mg is an antifungal drug that contains an active ingredient called voriconazole. Voriconazole is an antifungal medicine that comes under prescription-based medicine. It belongs to a medicine class known as ergosterol synthesis inhibitor. It can also be used to prevent fungal infections in people whose immune system is not working properly.

Therapeutic effect of Voriconazole (Voriways)
It works by killing or stopping the growth of the fungi that cause infections by blocking cell wall growth, resulting in death of the fungus.

Indications & Usage of voriconazole (voriways 200mg)
It is used in the treatment of patients (adults and children above 2 years of age) with:
- Invasive aspergillosis is a fungal infection in the lungs caused by aspergillus species , including treatment of invasive aspergillosis in patients intolerant of, or whose disease is refractory to other antifungals.
- Candidemia is a fungal infection in the blood caused by candida species, in non-neutropenic patients (patients with abnormal low white blood cells count).
- Serious invasive candida species infections when the fungus is resistance to fluconazole (another antifungal medicine).
- Serious fungal infections caused by scedosporium Species or fusarium species(two different types of fungi).
- Voriconazole is intended for the patients with worsening, possibly life-threatening, fungal infections.
- For HIV-Infected adults with invasive aspergillosis, voriconazole is recommended as a drug of choice.
- Fungal infections in high-risk bone marrow transplant patients.

Side Effects of Voriconazole
- More common: Difficulty seeing at night, increased sensitivity in the eyes to sunlight, rash, vision changes
- Less common: abdominal or stomach pain, bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet, clay colored stools, confusion, dark urine, decreased urine, dizziness, dry mouth, fever, muscle pain or cramps, nausea, unusual tiredness or weakness.

It is important to inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products you take or have taken before the treatment. certain medications may interact with voriways 200mg tablet and can cause undesirable side effects.

Other Medical Problems
It is important to discuss any medical problem with your doctor, before voriconazole is prescribed as it may affect the use of this medicine.
- Cancer treatment (eg, chemotherapy), recent or history of or
- Electrolyte imbalance (eg, low potassium, magnesium, calcium) or
- Heart disease, history of or
- Stem cell transplant conditions may increase your risk of having serious side effects.
- Galactose intolerance (rare hereditary problem) or
- Glucose-galactose malabsorption (rare hereditary problem) or
- Lapp lactase deficiency (rare hereditary problem) or
- Any condition that makes it hard for you to digest sugars or dairy products—Use with caution. The tablet form of this medicine contains lactose (milk sugar) and the oral liquid contains sucrose (table sugar), which can make these conditions worse.
- Heart rhythm problems (e.g, arrhythmia, QT prolongation) or
- Kidney disease or
- Liver disease (including cirrhosis) or
- Pancreas problems—Use with caution. May make these conditions worse.
- Hypocalcemia (low calcium in the blood), uncorrected or
- Hypokalemia (low potassium in the blood), uncorrected or
- Hypomagnesemia (low magnesium in the blood)—Use with caution. These should be corrected first before starting treatment and during treatment with voriconazole.
